چکیده
Propionibacterium acnes is often discussed as a contri buting pathogenic factor in the aetiology of acne lesions. The aim of this study was to test which porphyrin pat terns are synthesized by P. acnes in vivo in untreated acne patients and during standard acne regimens. These photosensitive compounds are potential targets for photo dynamic therapy of acne and need to be better characte rized in the skin. Using highperformance liquid chro matography coproporphyrin III was the main porphyrin identified in all patients. Coproporphyrin I and proto porphyrin were found at considerably lower concentra tions. When the porphyrin concentration of individual patients receiving isotretinoin was analysed repeatedly over time, clinical improvement was associated with lo wered levels of porphyrins. Statistical analysis demon strated a significant reduction in the porphyrin fractions only in the isotretinoin group which was associated with clinical improvement 2 months after starting therapy.

device. Introduction Acne vulgaris is a common skin disorder that affects w70% to 87% of adolescents and young adults. (1) The pathogenesis of acne is multifactorial and complex, and is thought to be due to androgen-stimulated sebum production. This production leads to follicular occlusion and hyperkeratinization, with comedo formation, as well as microbial colonization of pilosebaceous follicl...

Acne vulgaris is the most common disorder seen in ambulatory dermatology practice. Acne causes significant morbidity and the direct costs associated with it exceed $2.2 billion per year in the United States (U.S.). The pathogenesis is multifactorial, and our understanding of the mechanisms involved in the development of acne lesions has improved with time. Follicular hyperkeratinization, sebum ...

Skin as an outer layer of body and a main connection between the body and the environment is a way that pathogens can access the body; Therefore, it has a crucial protecting role for the body because of obstacle functioning and micobiota. Factors that seem to commonly contribute to the disease are follicular hyperkeratinization, propionibacterium acnes, sebum production, and inflammation; howev...

Acne vulgaris (acne) is a chronic inflammatory disease prevalent among adolescents and adults, with significant psychological effects. The aetiology of acne is multifactorial. Several pathophysiological associations have been identified in which Propionibacterium acnes plays a major role. This bacteria primarily affects areas containing oil glands including the face, back and trunk, where it ca...

One of the common chronic inflammatory skin diseases is Acne Vulgaris that affects up to 80% of a teen-age population. The progress of acne lesions is due to colonization of Propionibacterium acnes (P .acnes) in hair follicles. Treatment of acne includes topical or systemic therapy or combination therapy, with a tendency to perform topical therapy in mild to moderate acne. Nanoemulsions, small ...
